Peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, with his loving family at his side, of Aubin Joseph Richard of St. Peter and St. Paul, age 93. Veteran of the Second World War. Beloved husband of the late Jeanette (DesRoches) Richard. Son of the late John Louis and Annie (Poirier) Richard. Remembered by his children: Edward (Rita) of St. Peter and St. Paul; Louis (Rose Marie) of Deblois; Clarence (Jenny) of Prince George, BC; Raymond of Toronto; Ralph (Ida) of Harper Road; and Katherine Anne (Dennis) Fedyk of Prince George, BC. He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Tracey (John) Harper of Ontario; Pamela (Roy) Gaudet of Deblois; Donalee (Ryan) Kelly of Prince George; Michael (Nancy) Richard of Miscouche; and Kathlyn Richard of Harper Road. Great-grandchildren: Taylor and Riley Harper, Miranda Gaudet, Mathew Kelly and Samuel Richard, also many nieces and nephews. Also survived by brothers and sisters: Joe (late Cecile) of Montreal, QC; Alma (Vincent) Doucette of Greenmount; and Fred (Vaunda) of Cascumpec, brothers-in-law George McKenzie of Alberton, and Hilary (Betty) DesRoches of Ontario, sisters-in-law Beatrice (late Urban) DesRoches of Nova Scotia, Lucille (Colin) Farrell of Nova Scotia, and Annabelle (Arden) Ross of Prince George, BC. He was predeceased by his sisters: Ida (Terrance) Gillis, Rosy McKenzie, and also three brothers and three sisters who died in infancy. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton, for visiting hours on Thursday, June 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to be held at St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, on Friday, June 7, at 3 p.m., with Rev. Brendon Gallant officiating. A Legion service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery. If so desired memorials to the Veteran's Memorial Garden would be gratefully appreciated.
