Sunday, June 2 the world lost an amazing man. With family by his side, Michael Saunders passed away after a well fought battle with brain cancer that began in 2007.

He leaves behind his loving wife Sheryl, children Steven (Lindsey), Erin (Kyle) and Jessica (Craig).

Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Bill and his mother-in-law Ferne.

Michael leaves to mourn, his siblings Claude (Sandra), Kathy Saunders, Anita Winter (Bruce), Jeffrey (Deborah), Darren (Sheila), father-in-law Harvey, very close brothers-in-law Randy and Darren, numerous nieces and nephews, his dear friends "The Cook Family" and Michael McCulloch, all of whom he loved so very much.

Michael started his career in aviation with Time Air in Calgary in 1985, working in Victoria and then Kamloops, Air Canada Jazz where he met his true love, Sheryl.

Michael's passing will leave his family and many dear friends with great memories of his passion and enthusiasm for life. Michael and Sheryl travelled the world and he touched the hearts of people wherever he went.

Thank you to Dr. Hamilton and Dr. Mossewich for their years of care. Michael's family extends heartfelt appreciation to the incredible staff at Hospice where Michael's journey ended.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Sunday, June 9, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., at the Kamloops Yacht Club.
