The death occurred at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, surrounded by family of Mary Allain formerly of St. Edward aged 97 years. She was born in St. Edward on July 7, 1915, the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Mary (Gaudet) Allain and raised by the late John and Catherine Gaudet of St. Edward. She is survived by sisters Emilda Desjardins, Quebec, and Mae (Ken) Smith of Moncton, N.B., half-brother Frederick (Stella) Allain, DeBlois, and half-sister Lorraine (Clayton) Boudreau, Fredericton, N.B., many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and a special godchild Rita Chaisson, St. Peter & St. Paul. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Edmund, Alphy, Frank, Ivan, sisters Dorothy, Josephine, Alice and half-sisters and brothers Marguerita, Rita, Dora, Sophie, Joe, Gerard and Francis. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road for visiting hours Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 9-10 a.m. Funeral will be held Friday, June 7, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Celebrant Rev. Jacques Rigaud. Memorial donations to the church cemetery fund would be greatly appreciated. Interment in the church cemetery.
