BALLARD, REV. JIM - It is with a sad heart, the family wishes to announce the death of Rev. A. James Ballard, age 97, husband of Peggy (Mulholland) Ballard, of Hampton, NB, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. He was born on April 23, 1916, in England, the son of the late Albert and May (Bosh) Ballard. Jim is survived by his wife Peggy; adopted daughter Patsy Clarke of Hampton, NB; sisters Minnie Jackson of Lindsay, ON, Joan Reed of Port Hope, ON; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Ballard; brothers-in-law Walt Reed and Frank Jackson. Jim was a resident on Ontario, the greater part of his life. He worked with Shell Oil as an oil blender and owned his own radio and television service business, before fulfilling his call to the ministry. During 1969 to 1982 he was the Minister at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Hampton. Jim was a member of the Amateur Radio Club.
He is resting at Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, with visiting on Saturday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral service, conducted by, Rev. Kent Burdett, will be held from St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church at 3:00 PM, on Sunday, June 16, 2013, followed by interment in Hampton Rural Cemetery.
