On Tuesday, June 11, Gerald Arthur Crickett passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home after a short battle with cancer at 62 years of age.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife Suzanne; children Jennifer (Scott) Mintie, New London, PE, Matthew Crickett, Grande Prairie, AB, step-daughters Natasha (Clint) Gill, Kamloops, BC, Launie (Kip) Bateman, Westbank, BC, and Morissa (Shawn) Robbins, Blackfalds, AB; grandchildren Katelynn and Rachel Gill, Makayla and Hunter Bateman, Trey and Hailey Moura, Ethan, Hayley and Payton Robbins; mother Joyce Crickett; brothers and sisters Bev (Ross) Lake, Linda (Roy) Caldwell, Cathy (Lyle) Little, Tim (Mary Ellen) Crickett, Kim Crickett, Brenda (Brad) Nendyck, Brad (Jackie) Crickett and Greg (Georgie) Crickett; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by George Crickett (father), Theresa Crickett (1st wife) and Sharon Crickett (sister).

Born June 21, 1950 in the small town of Fort William, Ontario, he was the first of 10 children born to George and Joyce. He spent his childhood throughout the lower mainland where his father bestowed the art of carpentry. As a young adult he worked for the Highways and Kootenay Plywood Products in Nelson, BC where he met his first wife Theresa. After his children Jennifer and Matthew were born, they moved to Rock Creek, BC taking on the Rock Creek General Store with his wife's family. He volunteered for the Rock Creek Fire Department and played for the Bridesville Baseball League for a number of years, also enjoying his golf and camping along the way.

After losing his wife to cancer in 1996, he moved to Midway, BC to work for McMynn's Hardware Store and married Suzanne in 1998 gaining three more daughters, Natasha, Launie and Morissa. They settled together in Kamloops in 2006 where he worked for Home Hardware building doors, which truly made him happy until his death.

Apart from his wife Suzanne, his greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. Gerald will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27th, 2013 at the Calvary Community Church, 1205 Rogers Way, Kamloops, BC, followed by a reception.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Kamloops Hospice.
