Joseph Richard Black age 96 of Amherst passed away peacefully on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Monarch Hall in Riverview, NB.
Born in Amherst, Richard was a son of the late Russell H. and Mabel A. (Houghton) Black.
Richard lived his life the Amherst area and in his earlier years he farmed with his brother and father on their family homestead in East Amherst.
He was a member of Trinity St. Stephen’s United Church, Amherst.
Richard will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Shirley Smith, Sackville, NS; three nieces, and three nephews.
Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Arthur; and most recently his sister, Adelyn (Lynn) Cunningham.
A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 one hour prior to the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with Rev. Susan Estabrooks officiating. A time of sharing and refreshments will follow at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Warren Cemetery.
