Louise Gaudet
Sister Louise-Anne Gaudet (Saint-Gérard-Majella), passed away on June 18th, 2013 at the age of 96 in the Provincial House Infirmary of the Sisters Presentation of Mary at 1405 Bishop Pascal Place in Prince Albert, Sask. Prayer service will be held in the Provincial House Chapel on Thursday, June 20th, 2013 at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated from this same chapel on Friday, June 21st, 2013 at 10:00 am by His Excellency Bishop Albert Thévenot. Sister Louise-Anne is survived by the members of her religious community; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents Hermas and Diana (Gareau); her five sisters Élodie Gaudet, Lucie Frappier, Adrienne Connors, Julie-Anne Cyr and Marie Begrand; her six brothers Joseph (Aline Bernard), Élie (Aline Langlois), Lionel (Yvonne Gaudet), Julien (Marie Jeanne Gaudet), Louis (Rhéa Gareau), André (Bertha Carrière). Sister Louise-Anne was born February 14, 1917 in Bellevue, SK she received her early education there. Later, Louise-Anne became a resident at the convent in Duck Lake, SK and in 1935 entered the Novitiate of the Sisters Presentation of Mary in St. Hyacinthe, QC. Sister Louise-Anne taught many years in Saskatchewan: Duck Lake, Prince Albert, Marcelin, Debden and one year in Manning, AB, for a total of 25 years. In 1966 she performed administrative duties in the convent of St. Boniface, MB and later at the Provincial House in Prince Albert. From 1980 to 1991 she served as receptionist, catechist, sacristan and seamstress in Saskatoon, Winnipeg and at the Provincial House. From 1991 to 1994, Sister took up residence at the Novitiate in Hudson, NH, USA. In illness and in health, Sister sincerely sought God’s will. Throughout her life, she freely shared her many gifts with those in need. She was a beacon of light for us. She was a woman of deep prayer, yet attentive to each one’s needs. As someone said; "Yes, for us, Sister Louise-Anne was a living example of charity, zeal, humility and gentleness. We were touched by her inner joy. She was a gift to all of us!"
