McLEESE, RUTH - The death of Ruth V. McLeese occurred at home on July 4, 2013. Ruth was born in Saint John in 1932, the daughter of Arnold and Edith (Gilman) McLeese. Ruth was an avid gardener, woodworker, wildlife enthusiast, scuba diver, pilot, radiologist and athlete. Ruth was a graduate of Saint John High School and Dalhousie University Medical School (1959). She worked as a General Practitioner in the Eastern Arctic aboard the C D Howe for one year. She took post
graduate studies in Radiology in Montreal (FRCPC 1964). Ruth returned to New Brunswick to work as a Radiologist at the Saint John General Hospital, Sussex Health Centre and Blacks Harbour Hospital until her retirement in 1998. This gave her more time for woodworking, gardening, and bird watching in Hampton. She always had one or two dogs by her side. Ruth is survived by a sister Jean of Vermont and a brother James A. of Saint John and an extended family of friends in Hampton and beyond.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid's Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. Ruth's wishes were to have no visitation or funeral service.
