BOURQUE, PAUL N. - 1927-2013 - It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Paul N. Bourque on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at the Hôpital Christ-Roi in Quebec City, at the age of 86. Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Paul was the son of Adélard Bourque and Régina Breau. He is survived by his wife, Thérèse Gadbois; his son, Louis; his daughter, Élaine (Paul Lépine); and his grandchildren: Antoine, Jérôme, Élisabel and Ayla. After obtaining his Civil Engineering degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) and along with the Sainte-Croix Congregation, Paul Bourque became a founding member of the University of Moncton, where he was Dean of the Science Department from 1963 to 1967. He then obtained his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Université Laval, where he was Director of the School of Architecture (1969-1972) and Assistant Vice-President Academics and Research, while teaching Statics, Properties of Materials, and Principles of Structures until his retirement.
