It is with great sadness that the family of the late Minnie Vallis announce her peaceful passing on Friday, July 26th, 2013 at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 80 years . Leaving to celebrate her life are three sons: Benjamin (Linda), Bradley (Matilda) and adopted son, Lee (Shannon); three daughters: Holly (Rob Normore), Terrye (Larry Hunt) and Patsy (Reg Ruth); eleven grandchildren: Nicole, Angela, Brent, Christopher, Chantille, Shannon, Amanda, Matthew, Andrew, Victoria and Colby; eight great grandchildren: Kiersten, Katie, Allison, Dean Jr., Lauren, Sunara , Olivia and Kayden; special nephew Jeff; brothers: Charles (Maude) Kendall and Allan (Betty) Neil; sisters: Bernice (Freeman) Crewe and Myrtle Skinner; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband Percival and daughter Sheila Jane. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Sunday evening, 7-9:00 p.m. and Monday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 30th at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Marks Avenue with Reverend Malcolm Palmer officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
