Stephanie Stella Tarnowsky , age 80, of Stewiacke, passed away July 28, 2013 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born in Winnipeg, Man., she was a daughter of the late Roman and Lena (Borecka) Tarnowski.
Stephanie started a teaching career in Norway House, Manitoba. After marrying Edward Plumridge, she moved to Cape Breton and started her family. Here she resumed her teaching career in many different communities. Upon retiring, she moved to Stewiacke, where she was an active part of the community. Her life was busy with travel, Red Hatters Society, Willow Bend Seniors Club, choirs, the church, bowling, theatre, aqua fit classes at the pool, Canadian Ukrainian Association, and numerous other activities. She always stayed in touch with the many friends she made across Canada and around the world.
She will be missed by many, including her children, Diane Elizabeth Plumridge-Reid, Charles Edward Plumridge, Brian Murray Plumridge, all of Halifax; grandchildren, Marsha and Christina Reid, and Kyle Plumridge.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 10 at 2 p.m. in St. Andrew’s United Church, Stewiacke, Rev. Martin Reid officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
