Of Upper Island Cove. Passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, August 15, 2013. Mr. Mercer was 65 years old. He leaves to mourn his loving family: wife Maude Mercer; children: Kimberly (Jason) Efford, Karen (David) Crane & David (Kelly) Mercer; grandchildren: Luke Efford, Laura Efford, Alex Crane & Hilary Crane; brothers: Tom (Daphne) Mercer, Lester (Gloria) Mercer, Wayne (Dorothy) Mercer & Clayton (Greta) Mercer; sister-in-law Jean Mercer. Predeceased by parents George & Janie Mercer; brother Lewis Mercer; sister Lorraine Mercer. The funeral service will take place at St. Peter's Anglican Church & Cemetery on Sunday, August 18, 2013, 2 p.m. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade's Funeral Home, Cranes Road, Upper Island Cove, between the hours of Saturday 10:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his loving memory to the Daffodil Place or the St. Peter's Anglican Church Restoration Fund.
