CORMIER, EDNA MARIE - The death of Edna Marie Cormier of Oromocto, NB occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Saturday, August 24, 2013. Born in Boston, MA, USA, she was the daughter of the late Philomene and the late Arthur LeBlanc, and the wife of Donald Cormier. Edna graduated from normal school and began her long career as a teacher. She taught in Nova Scotia, Germany and Oromocto and after 41 years she retired from the teaching profession. She was a lifetime member of the Catholic Women's League at St.-Vincent-de-Paul Catholic Church, and a member of the Retired Teachers Association of NB. Edna was a devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed. Survived by her husband, Don; son, Donald Arthur Cormier; daughter, Jeannie Philomene Christie (Richard "Joe"); nieces, Camilla, Doris and Flora; nephews, Art and Ronnie; great-niece, Natasha Gorman; and Nicholas LeBlanc. Predeceased by her parents; one sister, Flora Pauline LeBlanc; brother-in-law, Camille LeBlanc.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Street on Monday, August 26, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St.-Vincent-de-Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 26, 2013 at 11:00 am, Rev. Ken Weir as celebrant.
