LEGER, ANTOINE "TONY" E. - Antoine Leger, 86, of Moncton, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. Born on July 6, 1927 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Arthur and Jeanne (Belliveau) Leger. Tony worked with Canadian National Railway (CNR) for 31 years. He was a member of the Assumption Golden Age Club, CN Pensioners Club and was a long-time volunteer, along with his wife, at the Assumption Cathedral. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years: Jeannine (Gautreau) Leger. He was a wonderful father to his three children: Paulette Belliveau (Marc), Louise Martin (Tim) of Moncton and Denis (Carole Arsenault) of Dieppe; sisters and brothers: Paul of Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, PQ, Henri of Chateauguay, PQ, Yvonne Niles, Thérèse Green, Jacqueline Manuel, Annette St-Coeur, Pauline Lannigan and Catherine Leger, all of Moncton, Geraldine Leger of Shédiac and Victor of Dieppe; loving grandfather to his six grandchildren: Joshua (Cynthia MacLean), Jessica, Julie, Samuel, Natasha and Jacob; one great-grandson: Cameron; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and by several brothers and sisters: Rita, Raymond, Marie-Jeanne, Antoinette, Camille and infant Pierre.
Viewing at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 28 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, Moncton. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
