MICHAUD, EMELDA "MEL" - 1922 - 2013 - Emelda "Mel" Michaud, with her loving family by her side, passed away suddenly, Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born in Edmundston, NB, Emelda was the daughter of Edith Couturie and Denis Plourde. She will be sadly missed by her son Gilles (Carol) of Miramichi and four daughters, Anne Supak (John) of Miramichi, Louise Innes (Ed) of Maple Ridge, Patty Michaud (Allan) of Miramichi and Monique Michaud of Maple Ridge, three grandsons, Rob, Chris and Cory, four granddaughters, Tanya, Kirstin, Nicole and Maddisen and great-grandchildren, Mason and Lauryn. She is predeceased by her husband Gerald (Jerry) Michaud and infant son Jacques. Mel was a teacher by profession. She was a member of the ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #3 and a member of the CWL at St Michael's Basilica her home parish. She enjoyed reading and a good argument but her greatest love was for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Emelda is resting at Maher's Funeral Home Miramichi, Wednesday, August 28th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 29th at 1 pm from St Michael's Basilica with Fr John Fraser officiating.
