ROBERT (BOB) EDWARD WILLIAMS
October 22, 1931 ~ August 14, 2013
Robert (Bob) Edward Williams passed way at St. Mary's Hospital on August 14, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. Bob was born October 22, 1931 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, the only child of George and Augusta Williams (Moreland). Bob was predeceased by his parents and by his loving wife Laura May Williams (Lootz) after 37 years of marriage. Bob is survived by his son John and his wife Silvana; granddaughters Elizabeth (Matthew), Stephanie, Sarah and Nicole; extended family Joe and Pat Merrett, Suzanne and Carolyn; his cousins Gladys Maher, Katharine Bell, Carole and Dave Grey, Lyle and Vera Kristiansen, Neil and Alice Williams, Freda Jenkins, Joan Dublanko and Bob Anderson; and his dear friends Henry and Lidia Hall, John Chartrand and Betty Jeffries.
Bob moved to Vancouver at an early age and became a plasterer and contractor in the province of BC. For most of his life, he lived in Vancouver. He moved to the Sunshine Coast in 1978 with his wife Laura and thought he would semi-retire, but instead took on ventures in wilderness tours and commercially smoking seafood until finally retiring after his wife's death.
Bob was proud to be a member of the Freemasons, Shriners and Order of the Amarath.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Mary's Hospital in Sechelt for providing a warm and caring place for Bob's final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
