MORAIS, LORENZO - 1933 - 2013 - It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the death of Lorenzo Morais, 80 years, on Friday, August 30th, 2013, at the St-Thomas Nursing Home in Memramcook, N.B. Born on March 3rd, 1933, he was the son of the late Edmond Morais and of the late Anna (Comeau) Morais. Lorenzo was a devoted husband and father who loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved the ocean and nature. Entrepreneur, politician and visionary, his career started in 1954 and during all his life, he was devoted to working for the development of his hometown, Caraquet, and working for its people. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Majella (Robichaud), his six children: Eric from Moncton, Manon (Augustin Cormier) from Bertrand, Lison (Eugene Landry) from Memramcook, Monique (Daniel Gionet) from Bas-Caraquet, Suzanne (Mario Vienneau) from Caraquet and Louise (Mario Arseneau) from Dieppe. Will be lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren: Cindy, Ryan, Francis, Jason, Marc-André, Dominic, Mathieu, Jolaine and Pascale; his five great grandchildren: Félix-Lorenzo, Jayden, Julien, Liam and Cassandre; two sisters: Dina (Wilfred LeBlanc) from Atholville and Louisa (late Sylvain Thériault) from Caraquet, one brother, Ernest (Jacqueline Benoit) from Caraquet; one brother in-law, Jimmy (late Léona Morais) from Ajax, Ontario, along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers: Albert (late Roberta Price) and Hédard (Cécile Kenny and Corinne Robichaud); three sisters: Laetitia, Léona, Argentina (late Théophile Robichaud), and a granddaughter, baby Monica.
Resting at the Racicot Funeral Home, 49 rue du Portage, Caraquet on Tuesday, September 3rd, from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm, and on Wednesday, September 4th, from 9am until departure for funeral. Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens RC Church in Caraquet, on Wednesday, September 4th, at 11am. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
