Edna R. Jay

Lantz, N.S.- It is with heavy hearts that Edna's family announces her passing on Wednesday, September 5, 2013, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax.
Born on the family farm in Fort Augustus, P.E.I., Edna was one of 12 children born to Charles Edwin Kelly and Laura Mae (Snowie) Kelly. In later years, Edna was said to be the glue that kept many of her siblings connected. She is survived by sisters, Mary and Peggy; brother, Dan; daughters, Shelley Walker (Ron) and Patricia Madden (Philip); granddaughters, Alix and Ciara Walker, Anne O'Rourke (Patrick), Sue Madden Ethier (Chris), Rebecca MacLean (Blake); grandson, Jason Moss (Patti), and their families.
Edna had a strong work ethic, and a big heart. She worked for Bill Lynch Shows, where she mentored and mothered many for 27 years until "retiring." Edna spent the last 25 years living with her daughter, Shelley, and family. Edna loved bingo and spoiling those she cared about.
Cremation has taken place, and Edna will be laid to rest in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Fort Augustus, P.E.I. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 14, from 2-4 p.m., in Milford Recreation Hall, Milford, N.S.
