DOUGHTY, RENA MARGARETTE - At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on September 11, 2013, Mrs. Rena Margarette (Lord) Doughty, wife of the late Harold M. Doughty of Leonardville NB. Born at Lords Cove NB on August 18, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Johnson) Lord. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Rena is survived by one son, Randy (Faye) Doughty of Leonardville NB, one step-son, Elmer Doughty (Phyllis) of Baileyville ME, four grandchildren; Harvey “Blu” (Trish) Ryder of Ontario, Jason Doughty (Lana Pisak) of Leonardville, Melanie (Reid) Pirie of Cummings Cove NB and Hillarie Doughty (Charlie Herritt) of Leonardville, great-grandchildren; Nicholas and Sarah Ryder, Lincoln and Gage Herritt and Willow Pirie, special niece, Wilma Bishop of Leonardville and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Harold, she was predeceased by one daughter, Judith Ryder, great-grandchildren; Bodhi and Payton Pirie, sisters; Merle Parks, Jean Lengowich, Pauline Hooper and Melva Lord and by special friend, Perley Moses.Prior to retirement, Rena worked as a Packer for HW Welch & Sons. She was a lively and vibrant spirit who enjoyed Bingo and music. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Resting at the Leonardville Church of Christ, Leonardville NB from where the service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Geoff Conley officiating, followed by the interment at the Mount Hope Cemetery. Visiting at the church will take place on Saturday from 6-9 pm. In Rena’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
