Of Upper Island Cove, passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Mrs. Coombs was 86 years old. She leaves to mourn her loving family: husband George; children: Ron (Gail), Marlene (Wayne) and Derek (Patsy); grandchildren: Richard, Brian (Kim), Jody (Kevin), Stephen and Shelly; great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Reid, Summer and Jesse; In-laws: Az, Ruth, Donna, Naomi and Martha, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents George and Isabelle, grandson Stephen, siblings: Bill, Clarence (Phil), Carrie (Simon), Mariah (Walter), Gert (Mike), Mill (Fred), Lil (Sam), Winnie, Evelyn (Ken) and Edith (Wallace), parents-in-law Az and Flora, brothers & bisters-in-law Tom, Will, Edith (George), Suz (Walter), Joe and Delilah (Dave). The funeral service will take place at St. Peter's Anglican Church and Cemetery, Upper Island Cove, on Saturday, September 28, 2013, 2 p.m. The Family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, Crane’s Road, Upper Island Cove between the hours of Friday: 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m, 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her loving memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
