DUMONCEAUX- Armand Louis Dumonceaux, age 83, of Val Marie, SK. passed away September 23, 2013 at the Cypress Regional Hospital. The Memorial Mass Service was held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Church of Nativity Of Blessed Virgin Mary in Val Marie, SK., with Father Prince Kurisinkal officiating. The organist was Lorelei Dumonceaux and was accompanied by Renee Hackney, Jeanie Bueckert, Brent Hackney and Cole Pearse. The eulogists were Armand's grandchildren. The urn bearers were Darren Dumonceaux and Jayson Perrault, and the honorary pallbearers were all of his grandchildren. The interment service took place at the Val Marie Community Cemetery. Armand leaves behind his beloved wife Simone (nee: Paradis), and their children: Gerald (Debbie), Gilles (Lorelei), Lynette (Lawrence), Guy, Daniel (Jeanie), Janine (Roderick), (Iola Anderson); eleven grandchildren: Pamela (Shawn), DeLee (Richard), Darren (Paula), Cody (Armanda), Aaron, Layne (Andrea), Jasmine (Brett), Renee (Brent), Cole, Morgan, Jayson; five great grandchildren: Matthew, Madison, Connor, Gage, and Hudson; six brothers and sisters: Henry (Cecile), Jeanne, Irene, Rene (Josey), Alyce, and Terri (Laurent); brothers and sisters-in-law: Rolande (Ted), Terri, Paul (Therese), Roger ( Bonnie), Lucille, Claude, Guy (Linda); and many cherished nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents Valere and Anna Dumonceaux; Simone's parents, Estelle and Emile Paradis; sister-in-law Lilianne Dumonceaux; brothers-in-law: Hector Bessette, Gail Christenson, Alphonse Cherpin, Gilles, Raoul, and Roland Paradis, and Paul LeCorre; and daughter-in-law, Karen Dumonceaux. Armand was born in Ponteix, SK on August 23, 1930. He attended school in Val Marie. He was united in marriage to Simone Marie Stella Paradis on August 3, 1954 in Val Marie at the Church of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary. Armand worked with the P.F.R.A Irrigation Project and was also employed as a carpenter and farmer in the area, being self employed as a carpenter for 49 years and a farmer for 59 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, recreation board, school board, Grasslands T.V. Club, and town council in Val Marie. Armand was very community minded and would lend a hand to anyone in need. In his spare time, Armand enjoyed fishing and ice fishing, boating, camping, and playing the mouth organ, but his most favorite of all was dancing. Papa also loved the little children. His greatest joy was to be surrounded by his wife and his children and especially loved to tease, tickle and laugh with all his grandchildren. Ninety per cent of the homes in Val Marie were recipients of Armand's woodwork. The church altar that has been admired for many years was also built by him. Dad had many health challenges and disabilities over the years, but in spite of this, he always persevered and never gave up. Armand will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends.
