Paul Jerome Mackey

Passed away peacefully on June 17, 2013 at the age of 76 years. Born in Carbonear, Newfoundland, he loved learning and teaching, traveling and his family. He was predeceased by his parents: John and Mary Mackey; his sister, Clare Tower; his brothers-in-law: James Fleming and Maurice Tower; and his sister-in-law, Kathleen Mackey. He is survived by his children: Jonathan (Edith) and Leslee; their mother and his dearest friend, Betty; his beloved grandchildren: Victoria and Santiago; as well as his brothers and sisters: Mary Fleming, John (Marie) Mackey, Margaret (Tom) Beckman, Leo Mackey and Patricia (Jim) Prendergast; and his many nieces and nephews. He is missed, and his legacy as a father, grandfather, brother and friend will live on in our memory. Cremation has taken place. Burial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 5 at St. Patrick’s Church, Carbonear with interment to follow. Burial arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Slade’s Funeral Home in Carbonear. Memorial donations in Paul's name may be made to the St. Albert United Church Refugee Fund, 20 Green Grove Drive, St. Albert, Alta., T8N 5H6 or to St. Patrick’s Parish in Carbonear.
