It is with heavy hearts that the MacInnis family announce the passing of Joe MacInnis on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont.
Joe was born in Clydebank, Scotland on May 25, 1942 to his parents, Joseph Roy and Jinnie (Osborne) MacInnis.
Joe was raised in Sydney, N.S. and moved to Ontario in his teen years.
He was a longtime employee of Sunar Houseman and in his early years he enjoyed many sports activities.
Joe was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Peter.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kandy and Shelley and two granddaughters, all living in Ontario; sister, Angie (Phillip), Kitchener; brothers, Dave, Cambridge, Ont., Roger (Kelly) and Jason (Catherine); sister-in-law, Brenda MacInnis, all living in Kitchener; brother, Colby; sisters, Debbie (Bob), Pam (Phil) and Wendy (Stephen), all of Sydney.
Uncle Joe will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families and many cousins. He will be sadly missed by his Aunt Ina Osborne in Clydebank, Scotland and his Aunt Norma MacInnis in Ohio, U.S.A.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Joe's life will be held on Oct. 27th from 2-4 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home in Kitchener. Cremation has taken place.
