The death occurred at Fort McMurray, Alberta, on October 5, 2013, of John Charles David Elsinga formerly of Graham’s Road, P.E.I., age 49 years. John was born on December 14, 1963, in Guelph, Ontario, to Peter and Wally (Joostema) Elsinga. Loving father of Peter “Zachary” Timothy (16), Jessica Catherine (14) and David Murchison (12). Survived by their mother, Karen Murchison of Charlottetown. Survived by his brothers: Martin Elsinga (Dimphy), Montague; Peter Elsinga (Katherine MacLeod), Wigmore Road; and Harry Elsinga (Vicki), Graham’s Road. Also his sisters: Margaret MacKay (Leslie), Campbellton; Ann MacKay (Matthew), Charlottetown; Evelyn McCarthy (Joe), Suffolk; Juliana Elsinga (James Clow), Wigmore Road; Elizabeth Ross (Martin), Cranbrook, BC; and Nanette Clark (Maurice) Fort McMurray, AB. Predeceased by his father, Peter Elsinga and his mother, Wally (Joostema) Elsinga. Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, New London, on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 10:30 a.m. There will be no visiting hours by family request.
