The death occurred peacefully with his loving family by his side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Friday, October 25, 2013, of Raymond Joseph Gallant husband of Joan (Grady) Gallant of Abram’s Village at the age of 70. Raymond was born in Abram’s Village on January 17, 1943, son of the late Emmanuel and Madeline (Bernard) Gallant. Raymond was a carpenter during his life and a Montreal Canadian fan.
He was the dedicated father of Karen (Danny) Gaudet, Kathy (Mario) Couture and Ricky (Jennifer) Gallant . Sister-in-law to whom he was a father Donna (Dave) Gallant. He is survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. Also survived by brothers John (Judy) , Arthur (Donna) and Jerry (Jan) and sisters Cecile, Lorraine, Louise and Nelida. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Albin, Alyre, Alfred and sisters Mary, Rose and Edna.
Resting at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville until Monday October 28, 2013, then to the St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church Egmont Bay where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday October 27, 2013, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Members of the Wellington Legion Branch #17 will hold a service at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:45 p,m.
Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home Building Fund or Hospice Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
