Alan “Bert” Sinclair, age 69, of Rural Prince Albert, SK passed away peacefully at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon following a brief illness, with family by his side. Bert was born on November 16, 1943 in Prince Albert, the first born son of Leslie and Daisy (nee Adams) Sinclair. He was raised in MacDowall area and attended the Lindsay and MacDowall Schools completing his grade 12 at Prince Albert Composite High School. Bert began his career with the Saskatchewan Public Service as a Traffic Officer in December of 1970. In 1975 he advanced to Driver Examiner in Saskatoon. In 1977, Bert transferred to the Prince Albert office where he continued to work as Driver Examiner until his retirement in October of 2012. Bert’s favorite pastime was hunting, he lived and breathed hunting. He also enjoyed travelling on his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle with his Suzie and the Blue Knights. He enjoyed fishing, chuck-wagon racing, dog mushing and anything else that involved the outdoor life. Bert was a mechanic who could fix almost anything, as well as a talented guitar player that entertained many people over the years. A gentleman who would lend a hand to help anyone, Bert was a genuine and honest man, with a great sense of humor. He was a great friend, mentor and teacher. Bert is survived by his loving family: his soul mate and partner of 28+ years Suzanne Drapeau; his sons Kevin (Serina) Sinclair and Clive (Kim) Sinclair; Sue’s son Trevor (Chantelle) Drapeau; his seven grandchildren Katelyn, Morgan, Cally, Jillian, Madison, Cianna and Sophia; his brother Garry (Shirley); his three sisters Dorothy (Lyle) Scharf, Barb, Debbie (Peter Dolan); mother to Kevin and Clive Marilyn; his brothers-in-law Mike (Lonnie) and Patrick (Patricia); his sister-in-law Chris (Rod) McLachlan; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, special cousins, friends. He was predeceased by: his parents Leslie in 1983 and Daisy in 1970; father-in-law and mother-in-law Joseph and Victoria (nee Nowroski). Celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30 from the MacDowall Lions Hall. Archdeacon Andrew Hoskins will officiate. Private family interment of cremated remains will take place in the Garden of Memories, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. It is the family’s request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Victoria Hospital or Royal University Hospital Foundations.
