Passed peacefully away on Oct. 27, 2013, Gerald Axel Sorensen, aged 84. Left to mourn are his beloved wife Lynn, adoring and adored children Gerald (Diane Pedersen), David (Natalie Spracklin), Mary (Bob Fearon), Karl (Jennifer White), Leslie (Ian Mansergh) and Anita (Patrick Bennett), and, his true joys, grandchildren Emily, Ashley, Erik, Lewis, Anna, Lili and Bess. Also mourning deeply are brothers and sisters Kathleen (Reg) Pomicpic, Frances (Jim) Ward, George (Bernadine) Sorensen, Axel (Kay) Sorensen, Marina Gallagher, and Margaret (Jamie) Bernt. Also missed by a large circle of dear friends and relatives. Predeceased by and lovingly remembered in our prayers is mother and father, Mary (Daniels) in 1960 and Axel Sorensen in 1958; brothers and sisters, Robert Sorensen, Gloria Gallagher, Michael (Duffy) Sorensen and Eva Stewart. Gerald served in the Canadian Navy (1949-1954) and was a veteran of the Korean War. Since his accident with CNR in 1959, he was actively involved in wheelchair sports, the Hub, the Knights of Columbus, Mary Queen of Peace Parish Council, the Royal Canadian Legion and the RCAF Association. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home LeMerchant Rd Tuesday 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Services from Mary Queen of Peace on Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment at Mt Pleasant Cemetery Field of Honour.
