Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late John and Bessie (Butler) Howell.
He is survived by daughters, Anne Marie, Mary, Patricia and sons, Mike and John. Also by a brother, William, Sydney and sister-in-law, Peggy.
He was predeceased by his wife, Theresa and a brother, Henry.
Funeral has takan place in Wasaga Beach, Ont.
