MURRAY JOHNSTON

On November 6, 2013, Mr. (Kenneth) Murray Johnston passed away at Pioneer Lodge in Moose Jaw at the age of 83 years. Murray was born on April 14, 1930 at the family farm in the Pansy district, south of Courval. He and his brother, Gordon, farmed together for many years until Gordon’s passing and health concerns required that Murray make the difficult decision to move to Moose Jaw. He lived there for several years at Mulberry Estates and more recently at Pioneer Lodge. Predeceased by his parents, George and Minnie Johnston, sister Ila Forsythe, brother Gordon Johnston and brother-in-law George Forsythe. Murray is survived by his nieces: Betty (Doug) Hicks of Mortlach and family Carla (David Waldner), Dana (Gilles) Lajoie and their son Dominic, and Lyndon (Lisa Evans); Marilyn (Barry) Dies of Estevan and family Nathan (Melanie Young) and Leah (Terrell Fisher); Sharon (David) Monseler of Saskatoon and family Kevin, Derek, and Christine (Steve) Lawson and their children Christopher, Matthew, Julia, and Sean. In keeping with Murray’s wishes, a Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, November 12 at 11:00 am at the Mossbank Cemetery with Sam Hawkins officiating. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family for lunch at Mossbank Legion Hall, 200 5th Avenue East, Mossbank, SK.
