Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, November 14, 2013, Florence Chislett of Islington, aged 78 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Harrison (July 10, 2013), son Carl Chislett, parents Isreal and Violet Welsh, brothers Isreal Welsh, Talbern Welsh, Edward Welsh and sister Mary Welsh. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life with thanksgiving are her seven children: Sharon Henderson, (Toronto), Victor Chislett, (Toronto), Bill Chislett, (Islington), Trudy Smith, (Halifax), Michelle (Noel) Rowe, (Mount Pearl), Sheldon (Daphne) Chislett, (Bowenville, ON), Elvis Chislett, (Broad Cove); eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She is also lovingly remembered by two sisters: Beatrice Kelland, (St. John's), Rita Umphlett, (Virginia); brother-in-law, Clayton (Lydia) Branton (Islington); sisters-in-law: Madeline (Eff) Pitcher, (Green's Harbour), Helena Branton, (Halifax); and special friend, Patsy Welsh,(Islington), as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and very dear friends. Cremation has taken place. A visitation for family and friends will be held at St. Matthew's Anglican Church Hall, Islington on Sunday, November 17th from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held from St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Heart's Delight on Monday, November 18th at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment to follow at St. Matthew's Anglican Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to St. Matthew's Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, Dildo.
