IN LOVING MEMORY OF
ROSINA FALSETTA
It is with profound sadness that the family of Rosina Falsetta announces her passing on November 21, 2013.
Rosina was predeceased by her husband Emilio in June 2012 and by her five brothers Amadeo, Giuseppe, Antonio, Michaele, Salvatore and her one sister IDA.
Rosina was born on July 25, 1922 in Altilia, in the Province of Cosenza, Italy to Carmela and Gaetano Maione. At the very young age of twelve, Rosina dropped her schooling to care for her ailing mother and her brothers and sisters. In 1942 she married Emilio and they started a restaurant business in Cosenza and began their family.
In 1951, Emilio came to Canada to begin a new life for his young family and in November 1956, Rosina and the boys boarded a boat and made the long journey to Halifax and then by train to Kamloops to join Emilio in their new home.
Rosina was a woman of indescribable strength and character. She devoted her life, unselfishly to her entire family and in particular to her son Joe. Rosina's passions, aside from family, were her many friends, her garden and flowers, going for drives in the country in search of mushrooms or dandelions and to creek fish.
Rosina will remain in the hearts and be forever missed by her three sons Italo, Joe and Peter (Wendy), grandsons that will miss their Nonna beyond words are Emilio (Ornella), Dustin, Lee (Crystal), great-grandchildren that were cherished by their Nonna are Joe, Mathew, Daniela, Mackenzie, Deegan and Pietro.
Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Peter Hoan Nguyen, will be held on Thursday, November 28th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. This will be followed by a private family entombment.
Family would like to thank Dr. Miranda Du Preez, staff at Royal Inland Hospital, staff at Home Health Care and give a special thanks to Karen from High Country Health Care as well as Razel Panes.
If friends so desire, donations in memory of Rosina may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 201-635 Victoria Street, Kamloops, B.C. V2C 2B3.
Arrangements are entrusted to Schoening Funeral Home.
