Olive Bell

Went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, Nov, 26, 2013 at the age of 96. Olive, predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years, Clifford (Feb 2013). Loving mother of Carol Fee (Don), Frank Bell and Brenda Nicholson (Frank). She will be missed greatly by her 7 grandchildren. Olive was born on May 25, 1917 to Percival and Minnie Farnden in Virden, MB. She grew up there attending school in Manson, MB, but the family moved to Alameda, SK, in 1934. During WWII, Olive served faithfully in the C.W.A.C. earning the rank of Lieutenant. When she returned to Saskatchewan, she attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon where she became a teacher. She taught in several schools in the province but was also very involved with the “Sunday School by Post”, a ministry of the Anglican Church of Canada, through which she met Clifford. They were married on July 9, 1966, and they farmed together near Shamrock, SK. While there, they were very involved and members of the Standon-Wiwa Hill Community Club and at St. James Church, Wiwa Hill. They retired to Moose Jaw in 1992 where they became core members at St. Georges Anglican Church and Olive served on the Altar Guild. Later, they became committed members of St. Aidan Church attending faithfully every Sunday following the amalgamation of the Anglican Churches of Moose Jaw. Friendships and family were very important to Cliff and Olive, and they were faithful in staying in touch and keeping up with their people. They both enjoyed spending time with their family, especially babysitting their grandchildren. A Funeral Celebration will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aidan Church, 124-1st Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0A9. Olive will be laid to rest beside Clifford at Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw. Memorial donations to St. Aidan Anglican Church, or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 1400-522 University Ave, Toronto, ON, M5G 2R5, would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Parkview Funeral Chapel.
