Passed peacefully away on November 28, 2013 at the Leonard A. Miller Centre, age 83 yrs. Predeceased by his wife Marie (nee Leonard), infant daughter Diane, parents Maude and Adolphus, brother Stanley, sisters in law Rose, Florence, brother in law Raymond. Leaving to mourn daughter Yvonne (Alvin), son Brian (Yvonne), grandchildren, Stephanie (Michael Coates), Dianna (Andrew Flynn), Michael Brake (Krista), Jonathan Brake (Jessica), Emma, Sara, Daniel, nine treasured great grandchildren, sisters Shirley (Fred Miller), Josephine (Harry Hayden),Mabel Walsh, sisters in law Marg Leonard, Regina Leonard, brothers in law Edward Leonard (Theresa), Bernard Leonard (Lucy) and Gerald Leonard, nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. Fred was a long time member of the Kiwanis Club of Kelligrews, Orangeman's Lodge, and Royal Canadian Legion and was a dedicated volunteer in his community. Cremation has take place. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Friday from 10 am - 4 pm and 7 pm - 9 pm. from where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 2 pm. Inurnment in the United Cemetery, Long Pond. Donations may be made to Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.
