April 1, 1923 - December 3, 2013 - Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Pallative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre on December 3, 2013, Michael Joseph Critch age 90 of Dunville, formerly of Gaskiers, SMB. Predeceased by his wife Laura (1970), sons Micheal (1983), Ron (1988) and Granddaughter Jennifer Squires (1997). Also predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Ellen; brothers and sisters Louise, Molly, Sally, Laura, Joseph, Beatrice and Cecil. Leaving to mourn the loss of a wonderful father and grandfather, four children, Melvin (Jane Canning), Dunville, Ellie (Don) Squires, Toronto, Ed (Brenda), St. John's, Keith (Geraldine) Orleans, ON; 9 grandchildren, Mila (Jason) Flynn, Laura (Steven), Stephanie (Matthew), Mary, Jonathon Squires (Ana), Stefan Critch (Sonya) and Devin Critch, David and Nicholas Critch, companion and special friend Mae Flynn and her family; sister-in-law Liz Critch, as well as many cousins, special nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends, and Management and Staff of Beachside Manor, Placentia. Special thanks to the staff of 4 North and South, Health Science Centre and Pallative Care Unit. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation for family members only on Wednesday, December 4th from 7pm - 9pm; Thursday, December 5th 2pm-4pm and 7pm - 9pm and Friday, December 6th from 10am - 12pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Friday, December 6th at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Dunville at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at the Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted in his memory for the St. Anne's Cemetery Fund.
