Elmer C. Cameron, 77, of Moncton, N.B., passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Born in Southwest Lot 16, P.E.I., he was the son of the late Russell and Gladys (MacKinnon) Cameron. Elmer was a retired salesman with Lennox / Imbrex Cassidy / Centura, with over 40 years service. He was a member of Mountain View United Church and was a former volunteer firefighter with the Moncton Fire Department. Elmer was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays fan and loved playing a good game of cards, but first and foremost he enjoyed spending precious time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Elmer will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Sheila (Lutes) Cameron; cherished daughters, Pamela Mulloy (Darren) of Kitchener, ON, Marsha Jones of Moncton, Stacey Henwood (Todd) of Cole Harbour, NS; precious grandchildren, Esme Mulloy, Katie and Jonathan Jones, Olivia, Anna and Sophia Henwood; sisters, Vera Fitzgerald (late Roy) of Toronto, ON, Ella Mae Deighan (late Wallace) of Summerside, Jean Smith (late Bob) of Grand Bay, NB, Betty Poirier (Vince) of Summerside; sister-in-law Doris Cameron of Lot 16; several nephews, nieces, including his special niece, Barb Wedge (David) of Summerside, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Elmer was predeceased by three brothers, Edson, Ivan and Lea Cameron; sisters, Edith Gamble and Helen Gamble. In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours. Funeral service to be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Ron Maund officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
