Fannie Edna Thorne

(March 19,1923-December 17, 2013) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Fannie "Edna" Thorne, from Torbay, age 90 years, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Mabel Field. Predeceased by her husband Reginald; brothers, Gordon, Ronald and Albert and son-in-law Garrett Butler. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Carol Butler, Daphne (Al) Lockhart, and Shelby (John) Auchinleck. She took great joy in her grandchildren; Renee (Paul); Steven (Denise); Robyn (Jason), Jennifer (Steve); Pamela (Adam); Jacqueline (Ron); and Johnathan; and great-grandchildren; Kaitlen, Madison, Gavin, Emerson, Lexi, Allison, Matthew, Dominic, Abbigail, Seth, Alyssa, Jordyn, and Jaxon. She is survived by her sister-in-laws; Evelyn Field (Torbay), Audrey Field (Torbay); and Evelyn Field (New York); many nieces and nephews; special niece, Jean Tapper, and cousin Joan Whitehead. Mom had a wonderful friend as her roommate, Winnie Oliver and her family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Patrick's nursing home. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, visitation will take place on Thursday December 19, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday December 20 from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service to take place St. Nicholas Anglican Church in Torbay on Saturday December 21st at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Anglican Cemetery in Torbay. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Edna's memory may be made to St. Nicholas Church Building fund in Torbay.
