KNOWLTON, M. JOYCE W. - Joyce Knowlton of Harvey Station, NB, wife of the late Allison G. Knowlton, passed away December 24, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Joyce was born at Tweedside, NB in 1921, a daughter of the late Harry T. and Lottie (Briggs) Swan and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, the Church Guild and the Eastern Star. Joyce was active in clogging, an avid oil painter, knitter and gardener. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Sheila Knowlton-MacRury (Kenneth), Chester, NS and LeRoy Knowlton (Hanne), Huntsville, ON; her grandchildren, Sarah MacRury (Michael), Allison MacRury Rose (Marc) and Justin Knowlton (Tammy); five great grandchildren, Christopher, Cameron, Colby, Allison James (AJ) and Lukas; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Allene Swan and Florence Craig and a brother, Allen Swan.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 2412 Route 3, Harvey, NB on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Basil Lowery officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Interment will be later at Harvey Settlement Cemetery.
