PICTOU – Bartled Louis Ebbinge, June 28, 1938 – December 28, 2013.
With great sadness we announce the passing of Bart Ebbinge of Pictou, Nova Scotia. We lost our beloved Bart on December 28th 2013, suddenly at the QEII Hospital in Halifax, in his 76th year.
Bart was born in Groningen, Holland, and immigrated to Canada in the 1950’s where he settled in Toronto, until retirement from driving a tour bus for Trentway-Waga. He and his is wife, Myra O’Callaghan, then moved to Pictou, where he enjoyed the Maritime lifestyle.
Bart is survived by the love of his life, Myra O’Callaghan; and his four children: Eileen (Ray) Tucker, Edward (Joanne) Ebbinge, Sean (Karan) O’Callaghan, and Kerri-Lyn (Al) Nault; and was Opa to seven beautiful grandchildren. He will also be missed by his brother, Paul (Grietje) Ebbinge and family of Holland, and his adopted Shea family.
The family would also like to thank the Pictou Dialysis Unit and his doctors for care he received for the last few years.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation to The Kidney Foundation, Atlantic Canada.
