Patricia Giesinger

Passed on: December 26th, 2013

PATRICIA ELLEN GIESINGER, BSP
July 29, 1958 – December 26, 2013
Patti Giesinger of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully enveloped in the love of her family on Thursday, December 26 after a determined fight against cancer. Waiting to greet her were her parents Frank and Phyllis and brother Stewart.
Patti is survived by her siblings and their children: Jeff (Judy) Giesinger (James and Carrie), Debbie (Lorne) Klassen (Matthew (Krista), Michael (Chalsey) and Scott (Robyn)) and Ann Anderson (Jody (Josée) Hunter and Paige Hunter). She was a proud great aunt to Matthew’s children: Rylee, Dale, and Abby and Jody’s children: Zoe, Emma and Allie and she was eagerly awaiting the arrival of Michael’s baby. She shared a special relationship with cousins Jean (Roy) Hertzog and Larry (Karin) Magee.
Patti was a devoted daughter, sister and aunt. She was a loyal friend and a fiercely independent woman. She faced cancer with steely determination and combated it with grace. Cancer may have stolen her life, but it could not steal her spirit.
Patti was a shy child who grew into a quietly reserved woman. She was a studious teenager and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Pharmacy. Patti dedicated 32 years as a pharmacist at Leonard Fysh Drugs and later at the Pharmasave. She took great pride in her work and was particularly proud she had served three generations of patients.
Patti loved animals. Even though she didn’t have a pet of her own, she always found a horse, cat, dog, ferret, bird, squirrel, caterpillar, rabbit, duck, swan, deer, and various other creatures somewhere to enjoy.
The family wishes to extend sincerely thanks to Dr. Adewumi, Dr. Geyer, Dr. Ramadan, Dr. Zarkovic, and the incredible healthcare professionals at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital and the Pasqua Hospital Ward 3B. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Dale and Carol Toni, Mary and Ian Evans, Leila Knight and Bob and Rae Nurse for caring for Patti when we weren’t able to be there.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. All are welcome to attend a Memorial Service at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.speersfuneralchapel.com
