Trenton - Hazel Viola Hattie, age 98, of the Glen Haven Manor, formerly of North Main St., Trenton, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 in the Manor. Born in Thorburn, she was a daughter of the late William and Anne (MacNeil) MacBeth. She was a member of the First United Church and UCW. She was a leader with the Hillside Girls Club. She is survived by a son, Newton (Sandra), Trenton; grandchildren: Susan (Pat) Chartrand, Alberta; Carolyn (Bob) Forgeron, Dartmouth; Joy Hattie (Phil Pellertio), Alberta; great grandsons: Robert and Cory Forgeron; Blaine Chartrand. She was predeceased by her husband William “Mack”; sisters: Alice, Margaret, Jane and Christine; brothers: Neil, Gilbert and Douglas. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton, from where funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday with Rev. Dr. Ken MacLeod officiating. Burial in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date. Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to Glen Haven Manor Recreation Fund.
