Peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Sunday, January 12, 2014, with his loving family by his side of Valmore James Arsenault formerly of Tignish age 82 years. Born at Tignish on April 19, 1931, he was the son of the late Ralph and Catherine (nee Buote) Arsenault. Loving partner to Laura Arsenault of Tignish and cherished father to Debbie (Greg) Vanbuskirk of Anglo-Tignish; Sharon (Leo) Doyle of Skinners Pond; Billy (Wendy) of Greenmount, P.E.I; Mary (Stewart) MacDonald of West Point. Caring grandfather to Crystal Smith, Michelle Gaudet, Dwayne Gaudet, Lee Doyle, Hayley Arsenault, Jordan Arsenault, Miranda McHugh, Kelby McHugh, Katie MacDonald. Great-grandfather to Julia, Riley, James, Dawson, Ella, Connor, Chantal. Dear brother to Marie (late Kenneth) McRae of Tignish; Carmella (late Harold) McRae of Kildrae Capes; Florence (Dr. Bill) Gardner of Toronto. He was predeceased by his wife Irene (nee Cormier) Arsenault, son Gary, grandson Todd Doyle. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass on Wednesday morning Jan. 15, 2014, from St. Simon and St. Judes Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Brendon Gallant celebrant. Interment later in the church cemetery. If so desired, memorials to the Parkinson’s Foundation, or to St. Simon and St. Judes Cemetery fund would be gratefully appreciated.
