COBURN, (DORCAS) (COUGHLAN) CORA ELIZABETH - It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Cora Coburn, wife of the late Donald W. Coburn of Keswick Ridge N.B. She died peacefully on Thursday, January 16th, 2014. Born March 29, 1929 in Stanley N.B. she was the daughter of the late Francis (Frank) Coughlan and Mary (Foreman) Coughlan. Anglican by faith, she was involved since childhood in the life of her churches; St. Thomas Anglican Church, Stanley N.B. and later St. Mary’s and the Parish Church. (St. Anne’s Chapel) in Fredericton N.B. She was an active member of St. John’s Ambulance for many years, being one of the first groups to form the volunteer division in Stanley, N.B. Past member of the Golden Toastmasters, Nashwaak and Fredericton Curling Club, the historical society, and the square dancing club. After raising her family, she worked for many years as a Real Estate agent in Fredericton and the surrounding areas. She was very proud of her family’s accomplishments. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with Don. She was thankful for, and kept in touch with the friendships she had formed. She is survived by her son Derek Dorcas (Janet) of Brockway, N.B., three daughters Gwendolyn Ferguson (Gary) New Maryland, N.B., Brenda Robar (Byron) Kelowna, B.C., Ann Leonard (Paul) Stanley N.B, grandchildren Jennifer Tuttle (husband Kevin Beatty) Fredericton, N.B., Mark Tuttle Victoria B.C., Rebecca Robar Kelowna B.C, Heidi St. Pierre (Richard) Fredericton N.B., Krystal Robar Langley, B.C., Maryann Rose Stanley, N.B.; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Alexander Beatty, Amethyst Tuttle-Routley, Ethan and Sam St. Pierre, sister Rita O’Rourke St. Andrews N.B. and many special nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by her brothers Ian and Garth Coughlan, sisters Ina Brown and Mabel Robbins, as well as the father of her four children, William C. Dorcas.
A memorial service will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Anglican Church McEvoy St. (off McLaren Ave) on January 20th, 2014 at 2:00 pm with the Revd. Canon Kevin Stockall officiating. At Mom’s request, there will be no visitation or reception. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Ann’s Chapel, Westmorland St. Fredericton, and N.B. or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
