MORTIMER, ROBERT - With sadness, the family of Robert J. Mortimer, husband of the late Charlotte (McDade) Mortimer, of Lakeside, NB, announces his passing at Bobby’s Hospice, Saint John, NB on Friday, January 17, 2014, at the age of 70. He was born on January 5, 1944, in Saint John, NB, the son of Mable (Foster) Mortimer of Ontario and the late John Mortimer. Robert is survived by his son Leslie McDade (Cori) of Quispamsis, NB; daughters Michelle Nancekivell (Steven) of Fredericton, NB, Carrie McDade (Pat) of Sussex, NB and Chrystal Mortimer (Howard) of Saint John, NB; two brothers, Art (Phyllis) Mortimer and Gerald Mortimer of Ontario; two sisters Dorothy Wong (Mento E.) of Nackawic, NB and Irene Burton of Saint John, NB; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was a long time member of Painters & Allied Trades Union and was a friend of Bill W.
He is resting at Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, with visiting on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Kelly Hudson-Lewis will be held from Reid’s Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, on Wedneday, January 22, 2014. Interment will take place in Oceanview Cemetery, Saint John, NB.
