SURETTE, Norma Marie- age 75, of Melbourne, passed away January 16, 2014 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born July 25, 1938 she was a daughter to the late Edward and Violet (Harrington) Muise. Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a devoted member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne, Yarmouth Co., N.S. Norma was a former member of the Bluenose Twirlers and enjoyed knitting and quilting in her spare time. She is survived by daughter, Marie (Andrew) Surette; Doris (Ernie) Muise; son, Andrew (Angela); grandchildren, Derrick, Pierre Jr., Samantha, Alyssa; great grandchildren, Lyem, Jana-Marie, Austin, Serenity; brothers, Arthur, Nelson, William, Gerald; and sisters, Pauline, Yvonne. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Herbie (Frank) Surette; sons, Frank Jr. and Eric; daughter, Gloria; brother, Douglas; sister, Kathryn. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Monday, January 20, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home South Room and 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral mass was held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne, Father Gerald David officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery followed by a reception in the Melbourne Hall. Donations in Norma’s memory may be made to the Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery Fund.
