Glen John Buckley died peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK of cancer. Glen was born to Florence Buckley on March 12, 1953 in Buffalo Narrows, SK. He grew up in a house filled with various aunts, uncles and cousins. He loved his family dearly and this showed through in his love of his nieces and nephews. He had a way with children. Glen was also a religious person and was unshakable in his faith and love of God. Glen was a very hard worker and worked as a farm labourer at Harman Eggs outside of Prince Albert until 1996. He then fell ill with an unknown brain infection. Since then he had lived with his mother until his untimely death. Glen is survived by his mother Florence Murphy; step-father Ron Murphy; sisters Sonia Murphy-Deschenes (Sylvain) and Vida Benjamin (Lloyd Olsen); his special godson Kalan Benjamin; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and various family members. He will be missed deeply by his nephew Nicolas and niece Hanna Deschenes as he was a big part of their everyday lives since their births. He was predeceased by his grandma Ernestine and grandpa Charles Buckley; brother Arthur Nicolas and various uncles and other family members. A Public Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Maurice Fiolleau. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Lunch to follow at the Legion, 133 – 8th Street East. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
