LONGTIN, Rosalyn – 85, Villa Saint Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton, Yarmouth Co., formerly of Dartmouth and Montreal, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in the Villa. Born June 28, 1928, in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Ida Belle (Crosby) Clements. Rosalyn worked as a caregiver to the disabled and the handicapped. She was an avid reader, when you saw Rose it was rarely without a book; she loved gardening, the beach and could pick blueberries for hours. She was especially talented when it came to knitting and crocheting. She loved the challenge of crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and loved to travel. She is survived by her children, Denis “Dan” (Penny Blackwood) Longtin, and grandson Christopher, all of Portugal Cove, Nfld.; Marc Longtin, Dundas, Ontario; Richard Killam, Codroy Valley, Nfld.; daughter Carol (Clyde) Sherman, Brazil Lake, granddaughters Aimee Sherman, Quispamsis, N.B. and Sheri (Mark) MacIsaac, and great granddaughter, Kellie, Timberlea, Nova Scotia. Also surviving is granddaughter, Joanne Sanchez, Montreal (daughter to Patti). Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Denis Longtin, as well as a daughter, Patti Killam; a sister, Anne LeBlanc and brother, George Clements. In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium in Yarmouth, and there was no visitation. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or to a charity of one’s choice.
