The death occurred at his home in East Bideford, on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, of David George Banks, aged 60 years, beloved husband of Heather Dawn (nee MacKendrick). Born in Poplar Grove on May 2, 1953, son of the late George and Mary (Winn) Banks. Dear father to Curtis (Abby), East Bideford; and Kendrick (Angela Douglas), Charlottetown. Loving grandfather to Bridget, Owen, Laila, Ben and Kate. Dear brother to Loretta Strongman, Wilbur (Sandra Rafferty), Fran (Hal) Murphy, Georgie (Austin) Trainor, Russell (Marilyn) and Inez (Larry) Hicks. David is survived by uncles: James, Walter (Darlene), Frank (Carol) Winn. He is also survived by sister and brother-in-law, Malcolm (Cathy) MacKendrick and Coralee (Lee) Pidgeon. Predeceased by parents, brother-in-law Art Strongman, mother and father-in-law, Hugh and Adah MacKendrick. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours Thursday, Jan. 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service on Friday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. in the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel. In memory of David, memorials to the Prince County Hospital (Oncology Unit) or Home Care West Prince (Palliative Care).
