Gloria Lorraine Mitchell ( nee Anten ) passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 15, 2014 at the age of 66 after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Gloria was predeceased by her son Stephen and her brother Daniel. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Joyce McMillan ( Alistair) , Vivian Anten, Susan Anten, her nephew David Van Hout and her many friends in Ontario and Nova Scotia.
In Nova Scotia Gloria taught at the Oxford Regional Elementary 1974-82, continued her work in the field of Special Education for the Cumberland District School Board 1982-89 and was principal at the former Brookdale Elementary School. She was a gifted teacher and will be fondly remembered by her colleagues and students.
Gloria finished her teaching career in Toronto. Her retirement years included spending time with her family, travelling abroad and enjoying the company of her friends in Ontario and Nova Scotia.
A celebration of her life will be held in the Humphrey Funeral Home Chapel on Jan. 31st. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, Myeloma Research Fund. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com
