Peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, P.E.I., at age 89 years, Alex Kurylyk of the South Shore Villa, Crapaud, and formerly of Bedeque, P.E.I., went to be with his Lord and Saviour. Alex was born on Nov. 1, 1924, in Toronto, Ont., to his late parents William and Annie Kurylyk. Beloved husband of 61 years of Linda (nee Court) Kurylyk and loving father of Lowell (Vikki), Susan Kurylyk, Ian (Elvira) and Iris (Marty) Fiorita. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Mitchel, Robbie, Zachary and Barret Kurylyk, William Fiorita, Kyle Pineau, Melissa Allen, Stefanie Silver, Rebecca Eastwood, Katy Burrill and Laura Deschenes along with 12 great-grandchildren. Survived by sisters and brothers-in-law Una (Court) Curtis, Emard Court, Vance and Alice Court. Besides his parents, Alex was predeceased by his brother, Mike. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, Feb. 4, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment to take place in the Searletown People’s Cemetery, Searletown, at a later date. Memorial donations in Alex’s memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
