Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Sunday, February 2, 2014, Gerald D. Noseworthy, aged 89 years, retired Fire Captain with the St. John's Regional Fire Department, who served faithfully for 33 years. He was also a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 1. Predeceased by his wife Joyce (nee Skanes)(1993); brothers: Harold, Bill, Cyril, and Lindy; sisters: Minnie, Marion and Bernice. Leaving to mourn, daughter Debbie (Dan Callaghan); sons: Gerry (Mary), Rick (Theresa), Dave (Carol); sisters-in-law: Betty Noseworthy, Mildred Skanes and Pauline Skanes; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Wednesday, February 5, and Thursday, February 6, from 10am-9pm. Funeral service will take place from Wesley United Church, Patrick Street, on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 2:00pm, with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
